With all the Versace craze going around these days I felt the need to put my “2 cents” in.  Some years back the brand was kind of looked at as tacky or just too gold 🙂  but these days some new-found appreciation is going around, which is making me very happy.  On that note I decided to share some images from a catalog I’ve been tightly holding on to for some time now.  These are some of my favorite images from what I’ve been told is the last Versace catalog before Gianni’s death (Collezione Donna Primavera Estate 1997).  I think they are absolutely beautiful and display the brands softer side, which is often overlooked, I think.  The “cherry on top” is that the photography is by Avedon – no introduction needed…Since he passed in 2004, you can’t blame me for moving this book through 4 states and 2 continents…Interesting to see how models like Naomi and Kate Moss haven’t changed too much. What do you guys think?  Do you feel inspired, surprised…?

Do you guys recognize this print?  It recently made an appearance in the Versace for H&M collection in another colorway.
