New Years Eve Nails! Essie meets Sally Hansen…again!

I went to Walgreens for some household stuff and this Essie nail polish stopped me dead in my tracks ( I know, I know…). It screamed “Happy New Year!” so I bought it with the idea to try to achieve this uber shiny “disco balls on my hands” effect and I think I’ve succeeded. I already owned the Sally Hansen so the two made for a perfect result. I used as a base one layer of Sally Hansen Celeb City (love the name!) and two coats of Essie Luxeffects in Set in Stones (also love the name!).  Since it is so glittery, I think it would look great worn against a “hearty” fabric like grey or charcoal Milano jersey or marled grey knit. The most important thing is – it’s really fun, beautiful in low light and makes you want to dance with your hands:)

TIP: This type of glittery nail polish is not easy to remove but here is a trick – file the glitter lightly and the rest comes off easily with nail polish remover.
